LEGAL NOTICE 250 of 2014.

The title of these regulations is the Conservation of Wild

Birds (Declaration on a Derogation for a 2014 Autumn live-

capturing season for Finches) Regulations.

Terms and expressions used in these regulations, unless the

context otherwise requires, shall have the same meaning as given to

them in the Conservation of Wild Birds Regulations, hereinafter

referred to as the "the Wild Birds Regulations", and i n the

Conservation of Wild Birds (Framework for Allowing a Derogation

Opening an Autumn Live-Capturing Season for Finches)

Regulations, 2014.

For the purposes of establishing the period for the live-

capturing of wild birds under paragraphs (i), (ii) and (iii) of sub-

regulation (6) of regulation 10 of the Wild Birds Regulations, and

for the purpose of these regulations the period for the live-

capturing of Finches for the year 2014, hereinafter referred to as

"the Autumn live-capturing season", shall be on the following

dates

-

live-capturing of Linnet, Goldfinch, Greenfinch,

Siskin, Hawfinch, Chaffinch and Serin between the

20th October 2014 and the 31st December 2014, both

dates included.

For the purposes of these regulations, the Autumn live-

capturing season shall be in accordance with the provisions of the

Conservation of Wild Birds (Framework for Allowing a Derogation

Opening an Autumn Live-Capturing Season for Finches),

Regulations, 2014.

(1) The Autumn live-capturing licence, which shall be

issued upon the payment of a nominal fee of fifty-five euro (€55),

shall set the overall seasonal bag limit for the Autumn live-

capturing season at 12,000 for Linnet, 800 for Goldfinch, 4,500 for

Gree nfi nch , 2,3 50 fo r Si sk in , 50 0 for Ha wfi nc h, 5,0 0 0 f or

Chaffinch and 2,350 for Serin as the total number of birds which

may be captured under the authority of all issued licences taken

together.

(2) The Autumn live-capturing licence shall set the live-

capturing season’s bag limit to ten (10) finches for each Autumn

live-capturing licence or however many below this number might

have been captured before the season is closed.
