LEGAL NOTICE 331 of 2003.

(1) The title of these regulations is the Particulars found in

Zootechnical Certificates of Semen, Ova and Embryos from

Registered Equidae Regulations.

(2) The scope of these regulations is to implement the

provisions found under European Union Commission Decision 96/

79/EEC laying down the zootechnical certificates of semen, ova

and embryos from registered equidae. This Decision finds a legal

basis under European Union Council Directive 90/427/EEC, article

8(2).

ZOOTECHNICAL CERTIFICATE FOR SEMEN OF REGISTERED EQUIDAE

A. Particulars of donor stallion

1. Issuing body

The following particulars must be mentioned in the

certificate for semen of registered equidae

(a) Data concerning the donor stallion -

system of identification (e. g. microchip, tattoo,

name and stud-book numbers of parents and the

sire of the dam as well as the name of the stud-

those documents, by the following formula

Commission Decision 96/79/EC.''.

be clearly stated and furthermore the ova must all have the same

Schedule II;

(b) in documentation accompanying the equine ova. In

this event the competent authorities must certify that

the particulars set out in regulation 4 are indicated in

those documents, by the following formula

''The undersigned certifies that these documents

contain the particulars mentioned in Article 3 of

Commission Decision 96/79/EC.''.

FROM REGISTERED EQUIDAE

(1) The following particulars must be mentioned in the

certificate of embryos of registered equidae

(a) Data concerning the donor stallion and donor mare -

all data specified in regulation 2(1).

(b) Data concerning the embryos -

date of insemination or mating,

name and address of any embryo collection team

including the registration number,

name and address of the consignee.

(2) If there is more than one embryo in a single straw, this must

be clearly stated and furthermore the embryos must all have the

same parentage.

The particulars provided for in regulation 6 may be

indicated -

(a) in the form of a certificate conforming to the model in

Schedule III;

(b) in documentation accompanying the equine embryo(s).

In this event the competent authorities must certify

that the particulars set out in regulation 6 are indicated

in those documents, by the following formula

''The undersigned certifies that these documents

contain the particulars mentioned in Article 5 of

Commission Decision 96/79/EC.''.
