BYE-LAWS FOR THE DIPLOMA IN COMMERCE -

DIP. COM. - UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE

FACULTY OF ECONOMICS, MANAGEMENT AND

ACCOUNTANCY

LEGAL NOTICE 202 of 2005, as amended by Legal Notices 293 of 2009

and 219 of 2010.

(1) The title of these bye-laws is the Bye-Laws for the

Diploma in Commerce - Dip. Com. - under the auspices of the

Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy.

(2)

In these bye-laws, unless the context otherwise requires -

"the Board" means the Board of the Faculty of Economics,

Management and Accountancy;

Diploma in Commerce; and

"the Diploma" means the Diploma in Commerce.

These bye-laws shall be

applicable

for

courses

commencing in October 2009 or later.

(1) To be registered as regular students in the course,

applicants must satisfy the general requirements for admission as

specified in the Admissions Regulations.

(2) Applicants admitted under regulation 2(2)(a)(iii) of the

Admission Regulations must be in possession of those

qualifications and/or experience that would satisfy the Board that

they have reached the academic standard required to follow the

course with profit.

The course shall extend over a period of not less than 12

months and not more than two years of part-time study.

The Course shall consist of a number of taught study-units

to which 60 credits shall be assigned.

(1) The overall evaluation of each student’s performance

in the course for the purpose of the classification of the Diploma

shall be based on the results obtained, all credits earned being

weighted equally.

(2) The names of students who qualify for the award of the

Diploma shall be published in a list in alphabetical order classified

as follows
