BOARDS STATUTE

The title of this Statute is Statute 12 - Functioning of

University Boards Statute.

STATUTE 12 - FUNCTIONING OF UNIVERSITY BOARDS

STATUTE

1. Unless otherwise specifically provided in the instrument

setting up such body any board, commission, committee or other

body constituted by or under the statutes and regulations of the

University of Malta or under any governing body of the University

may act notwithstanding any vacancy in its membership or the

absence of any member therefrom, provided that a quorum is

present at the meeting of such body, and any proceeding thereof

shall be valid notwithstanding that the appointment of any person

on such body is subsequently declared to be invalid.

Notwithstanding any term provided for in any statute or

regulation, or in the resolution of its appointment, any board,

commission, committee or other body constituted by or under the

statutes and regulations of the University of Malta or under any

governing body of the University and any member thereof shall

continue in office until the appointment of a new board or a new

member thereof, and this unless such board is expressly dissolved

by its appointing body.

Unless otherwise provided by the instrument establishing

any such body the quorum at the meeting of any such body shall be

one third of the members plus one.

Any body referred to in this statute may invite any person

to be present and give advice or information at such meetings but

such person shall not have a vote therein.

This Statute shall be deemed to have come in force on the

date of the coming into force of the Education Act.
