CITIZENSHIP REGULATIONS

LEGAL NOTICE 458 of 2020, as amended by Legal Notices 1 of

2021 and 59 of 2026.

The title of these regulations is the Publication of Names

of Citizens of Malta and Persons Deprived of Maltese Citizenship

Regulations.

In these regulations, unless the context otherwise

requires

"Act" means the Maltese Citizenship Act;

"applicant" means the person who applies for Maltese

citizenship by means of naturalisation or registration, and includes

dependent persons or persons who apply on behalf of another person;

"Minister" shall have the same meaning as assigned to it in the

Act.

The Minister shall publish every year in the Gazette the

names of all the persons who within the previous twelve (12) calendar

months have been granted Maltese citizenship by registration or

naturalisation.

The Minister shall as soon as practicable, ensure that the

names of those persons deprived of Maltese citizenship is published by

means of a notice in the Gazette.
