DUPLICATE ACTS OF CIVIL STATUS

REGULATIONS

LEGAL NOTICE 92 of 1979.

The title of these Regulations is Duplicate Acts of Civil

Status Regulations.

(1) It shall be the duty of the Director of Public Registry to

prepare duplicate acts of civil status of all such original acts

deposited in the Public Registry in Malta or Gozo which are

destroyed or damaged through fire or wear and tear.

(2) The preparation of the civil acts mentioned in sub-

regulation (1) of this regulation shall be carried out by reference to

the register kept at the Public Registry.

The duplicate acts so prepared shall be authenticated by the

Director of Public Registry or by such other person delegated by

him for this purpose by affixing his signature at the foot of the said

acts.

The provisions of the Civil Code relating to the

formulation of acts of civil status shall apply to duplicate acts

prepared under these Regulations.
