Establishment of the Ċirkewwa Marine Park Regulations, 2026

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by articles 54 and 55 of

the Environment Protection Act, the Minister responsible for the

environment, after consultation with the Environment and Resources

Authority, has made the following regulations:-

(1) The title of these regulations is the Establishment of Citation and

scope.

the Ċirkewwa Marine Park Regulations, 2026.

(2) The scope of these regulations is to establish the Ċirkewwa

Marine Park located in the limits of Iċ-Ċirkewwa and Il-Qammieħ,

lying within the special protection area known as Żona fil-Baħar

madwar Għawdex.

For the purpose of these regulations, unless the context Interpretation.

otherwise requires

"Act" means the Environment Protection Act;

"Marine Park" means the Ċirkewwa Marine Park;

"Minister" means the Minister responsible for the

environment.

The Minister hereby declares the establishment of the Establishment

Marine Park in the Northeast of Malta, as delineated in the site map in of

Park.

the Schedule. The Marine Park shall serve to promote and conserve the

ecological and natural features while facilitating the sustainable use of

the Marine Park's resources for recreation and other appropriate

activities.
