Extension of the Validity of Development Permits

(Amendment) Regulations, 2025

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by articles 83, 84 and 85

of the Development Planning Act, the Minister responsible for the

Planning Authority, after consultation with the Planning Authority, has

made the following regulations:-

The title of these regulations is the Extension of the

Validity of Development Permits (Amendment) Regulations, 2025 and

these regulations shall be read and construed as one with the

Extension of the Validity of Development Permits Regulations,

hereinafter referred to as the "principal regulations".

Regulation 3 of the principal regulations shall be amended

as follows

(a) the words "31st December 2024" shall be substituted

by the words "31st December 2026";

(b) the words "extended by an additional three (3) years."

shall be substituted by the words "extended by an additional three

(3) years:" and immediately thereafter there shall be added the

following new provisos

"Provided that any development permit, which

expired between the 1 st of January 2023 and the 9 th of

November 2023, both dates included, shall be deemed to be

valid until 31 st December 2026

Provided further that any development permit

which expired between the 1 st of January 2025 and the 1 st

of April 2025, both dates included, shall be deemed to be

valid until the 31 st December 2028.".
