Bye-Law of 2025 to amend the Bye-Laws of 2008 in terms of the

General Regulations for University Undergraduate Awards, 2019 for the

Degrees of Bachelor of Science - B.Sc. - and

Bachelor of Science (Honours) - B.Sc. (Hons) -

under the auspices of the Faculty of Science

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred upon him by articles 74(5) and 75(6) of the

Education Act (Cap. 327), the Chancellor of the University of Malta has promulgated

the following bye-law made by the Board of the Faculty of Science in virtue of the

powers conferred upon it by article 81(1)(c) of the said Act and which has been

approved by the Senate of the University of Malta as required by article 81(2) of the

said Act

Citation

This bye-law may be cited as the Bye-Law of 2025 to amend the Bye-

Laws of 2008 in terms of the General Regulations for University Undergraduate

Awards, 2019 for the Degrees of Bachelor of Science - and Bachelor of Science

(Honours) - B.Sc. (Hons) - and shall be read and construed as one with the Bye-Laws

of 2008 in terms of the General Regulations for University Undergraduate Awards,

2019 for the Degrees of Bachelor of Science - B.Sc. - and Bachelor of Science

(Honours) - B.Sc. (Hons) - under the auspices of the Faculty of Science, published as

Legal Notice 213 of 2008, hereinafter referred to as “the principal bye-laws”.

Applicability

This bye-law shall be applicable for courses commencing in October

2025 or later.

Amendment to bye-law 3 of the principal bye-laws

For paragraph (f) of bye-law 3 of the principal bye-laws there shall be

subsituted the following

“(f) Geosciences

a pass in Pure Mathematics (Intermediate, Grade C or better) and a pass in one

of the following subjects (Intermediate, Grade C or better)

Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Applied Mathematics, Computing, Information

Technology, Geography and Environmental Science;”
