Registration and Licensing of Motor Vehicles

(Amendment) Regulations, 2024

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by article 20(2) of the

Motor Vehicles Registration and Licensing Act, the Minister

responsible for transport has made the following regulations:-

The title of these regulations is the Registration and

Licensing of Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Regulations, 2024 and

these regulations shall be read and construed as one with the

Registration and Licensing of Motor Vehicles Regulations, hereinafter

referred to as the "principal regulations".

In regulation 2 of the principal regulations, the definition

"Directive 1999/37/EC" shall be substituted by the following new

definition

" "Directive 1999/37/EC" means Council Directive 1999/

37/EC of 29 April 1999 on the registration documents for

vehicles as amended by Directive (EU) 2022/362 of the

European Parliament and the Council of 24th February 2022, as

amended from time to time;".
