Motor Vehicles Registration and Licensing Act

(Amendment) Rules, 2024

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by article 20(1)(b) of the

Motor Vehicles Registration and Licensing Act, the Minister

responsible for transport, with the concurrence of the Minister

responsible for finance, has made the following rules:-

The title of these rules is the Motor Vehicles Registration

and Licensing Act (Amendment) Rules, 2024 and these rules shall be

read and construed as one with the Motor Vehicles Registration and

Licensing Act, hereinafter referred to as the "principal Act";

Item 2 of the Fourth Schedule to the principal Act shall be

substituted by the following new item

"2. Annual circulation licence fees for M1 motor vehicles

registered in Malta or in any other Member State before 1 st

January, 2009, excluding those mentioned in item 6, and motor

vehicles for hire and light passenger transport vehicles, registered

in Malta or in any other Member State before 1 st January, 2010.".
