Police Act (Amendment of Fourth Schedule)

(Amendment No. 3) Regulations, 2024

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by articles 82(2) and 101

of the Police Act, the Minister responsible for the police, with the

concurrence of the Minister responsible for finance, has made the

following regulations:-

The title of these regulations is the Police Act (Amendment

of Fourth Schedule) (Amendment No. 3) Regulations, 2024 and these

regulations shall be read and construed as one with the Fourth

Schedule to the Police Act, hereinafter referred to as the "Fourth

Schedule".

Sub-regulation (6) of regulation 14 of the Fourth Schedule

shall be substituted by the following new sub-regulation

"(6) Where an officer who has completed twenty-

five (25) years of service with the Force, has also satisfied

the conditions set out in regulation 11 and opts to continue

to serve with the Force thereafter, the said officer shall be

entitled to the pension payable upon the completion of

twenty-five (25) years of service, notwithstanding any

event which may occur during the period subsequent to

the completion of the said twenty-five (25) years of

service and which may give rise to the applicability of the

provisions of regulation 11 of this Schedule and of the

S.L. Const.07. provisions of regulation 35 of the Public Service

Commission Disciplinary Regulations

Provided that this shall be without prejudice to

the possibility of accruing additional pension benefits

Provided further that the provisions of

regulation 11(2) shall apply to the pension payable to the

officers referred to in this regulation for the period

subsequent to the completion of the said twenty-five (25)

years of service.".
