Trees and Woodlands Protection (Amendment) Regulations, 2024

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by articles 54 and 55 of

the Environment Protection Act, the Minister responsible for the

environment after consultation with the Environment and Resources

Authority, has made the following regulations:-

The title of these regulations is the Trees and Woodlands Citation.

Protection (Amendment) Regulations, 2024, and these regulations

shall be read and construed as one with the Trees and Woodlands S.L. 549.123.

Protection Regulations, hereinafter referred to as the "principal

regulations".

In regulation 3 of the principal regulations, the definition Amends

"protected tree" shall be substituted by the following new definition: regulation

"protected tree" means all those trees listed in the First

Schedule and those which are protected in urban public open

spaces listed in the Second Schedule;".

In sub-regulation (2) of regulation 9 of the principal Amends

to safeguard the trees.".

7. Sub-regulation (1) of regulation 20 of the principal

regulations the words "on any tree listed under the First Schedule"

shall be substituted by the words "on any protected tree".
