taħt il-patroċinju tal-Istitut tas-Sistemi Ambjentali

BIS-SAĦĦA tas-setgħat mogħtija lilu skont l-artikoli 74 (5) u 75 (6) tal-Att dwar

l-Edukazzjoni (Kap. 327), il-Kanċillier tal-Università ta’ Malta ppromulga dan

l-ordinament magħmul mill-Bord tal-Istitut tas-Sistemi Ambjentali bis-saħħa tas-

setgħat mogħtija lilu skont l-artikolu 8 (b) (v) tal-Istatut għall-Istitut, u li ġie approvat

mis-Senat tal-Università ta’ Malta

It-Titlu

Dan l-ordinament jista’ jissejjaħ bħala l-Ordinament tal-2023 biex jemenda

l-Ordinamenti tal-2019 skont ir-Regolamenti tal-2023 għall-Grad ta’ Doctor of

Philosophy – Ph.D. – għall-Grad ta’ Doctor of Philosophy – u għandu jinqara u

jinftiehem bħala ħaġa waħda mal-Ordinamenti tal-2019 skont ir-Regolamenti tal-2023

għall-Grad ta’ Doctor of Philosophy – Ph.D. – għall-Grad ta’ Doctor of Philosophy

taħt il-patroċinju tal-Istitut tas-Sistemi Ambjentali, ippubblikati bħala Avviż Legali

298 tal-2010, li minn hawn ’il quddiem jissejħu “l-ordinamenti prinċipali”.

L-Applikabilità

Dan l-ordinament għandu japplika għall-korsijiet li jibdew minn Ġunju

2023 jew wara.

L-Emenda għall-ordinament 5 tal-ordinamenti prinċipali

Minflok l-ordinament 5 tal-ordinamenti prinċipali għandu jidħol dan li ġej

“5. (1) Il-Bord għandu jirrakkomanda lis-Senat li jinħatar Kumitat tal-Istitut

għad-Dottorat li jkun magħmul kif ġej

Id-Direttur tal-Istitut jew id-delegat tiegħu bħala President

Il-Koordinatur tad-Diviżjoni mhux rappreżentat mid-Direttur

Żewġ membri oħra magħżula mill-Bord tal-Istitut jew mill-istaff akkademiku

tal-Istitut.”

EDUCATION ACT

(CAP.327)

Bye-Law of 2023 to amend the Bye-Laws of 2019 in terms of the Doctor of

Philosophy – Ph.D. – Degree Regulations, 2023 for the Degree of Doctor of

Philosophy – Ph.D. - under the auspices of the Institute of Earth Systems

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred upon him by articles 74 (5) and 75 (6) of the

Education Act (Cap. 327), the Chancellor of the University of Malta has promulgated

the following bye-law made by the Board of the Institute of Earth Systems in virtue of

the powers conferred upon it by article 8 (b) (v) of the Statute for the Institute, which

has been approved by the Senate of the University of Malta

Citation

1. This bye-law may be cited as the Bye-Law of 2023 to amend the Bye-Laws

of 2019 in terms of the Doctor of Philosophy – Ph.D. – Degree Regulations, 2023

for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy – Ph.D. – and shall be read and construed

as one with the Bye-Laws of 2019 in terms of the Doctor of Philosophy – Ph.D. –

Degree Regulations, 2023 for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy – Ph.D. – under

the auspices of the Institute of Earth Systems, published as Legal Notice 298 of 2010,

hereinafter referred to as “the principal bye-laws”.

Applicability

2. This bye-law shall apply for courses commencing in June 2023 or later.

Amendment to bye-law 5 of the principal bye-laws

3. For bye-law 5 of the principal bye-laws there shall be substituted the

following

“5. The Board shall recommend to Senate the appointment of an Institute

Doctoral Committee composed as follows

The Director of the Institute or his delegate as Chair

The Coordinator of the Division not represented by the Director

Another two members selected from the Board of the Institute or from the

Institute’s academic staff.”
