(CAP. 327)

Bye-Laws of 2022 to amend the Bye-Laws of 2010 in terms of the

General Regulations for University Undergraduate Awards, 2019 for the

Degree of Bachelor of Science (Honours) – B.Sc. (Hons) –

under the auspices of the Faculty of Health Sciences

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred upon him by articles 74 (5) and 75 (6) of the

Education Act (Cap. 327), the Chancellor of the University of Malta has promulgated

the following bye-laws made by the Board of the Faculty of Health Sciences in virtue

of the powers conferred upon it by article 81 (1) (c) of the said Act and which have

been approved by the Senate of the University of Malta as required by article 81 (2)

of the said Act

These bye-laws may be cited as the Bye-Laws of 2022 to amend the

Bye-Laws of 2010 in terms of the General Regulations for University Undergraduate

Awards, 2019 for the Degree of Bachelor of Science (Honours) - B.Sc. (Hons) - and

shall be read and construed as one with the Bye-Laws of 2010 in terms of the General

Regulations for University Undergraduate Awards, 2019 for the Degree of Bachelor

of Science - B.Sc. (Hons) - under the auspices of the Faculty of Health Sciences,

published as Legal Notice 186 of 2005, hereinafter referred to as “the principal bye-

laws”.

Applicability

Reg. 2 — under the auspices of the Faculty of Health Sciences Open official source

These bye-laws shall be applicable for courses commencing in October

2022 or later.

Amendment to bye-law 4 of the principal bye-laws

Bye-law 4 of the principal bye-laws shall be deleted.

Renumbering of bye-laws 5 to 18 of the principal bye-laws

Bye-laws 5 to 18 of the principal bye-laws shall be renumbered as bye-

laws 4 to 17.

Amendment to bye-law 14 of the principal bye-laws

For bye-law 14 of the principal bye-laws there shall be substituted the

following

“13. Students admitted in terms of bye-law 4, who would have successfully

completed the Certificate in Clinical Nursing Practice course with the same area of

study for which they are being accepted, will be allowed to transfer the study-units

passed during the Certificate course to the course leading to the Degree on condition

that they renounce the Certificate.”
