Il-Ponta tal-Qawra Nature Reserve

(Amendment) Regulations, 2022

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by articles 54 and 55 of

the Environment Protection Act, the Minister responsible for the

environment, after consultation with the Environment and Resources

Authority, has made the following regulations:-

The title of these regulations is Il-Ponta tal-Qawra Nature

Reserve (Amendment) Regulations, 2022 and these regulations shall

be read and construed as one with the Il-Ponta tal-Qawra Nature

Reserve Regulations, hereinafter referred to as "the principal

regulations".

Sub-regulation (2) of regulation 5 of the principal

regulations shall be amended as follows

(a) in paragraph (g) thereof, the words "within the Nature

Reserve; or" shall be substituted by the words "within the Nature

Reserve;";

(b) in paragraph (h) thereof, the words "ancillary for such

purposes," shall be substituted by the words "ancillary for such

purpose; or;" and immediately after there shall be added the

following new paragraph

"(i) be in possession and, or use any weapon,

ammunition, or any other equipment which may be used for

hunting within the Nature Reserve and within an area of

two hundred metres radius measured from its border," .

In the first column of Schedule II to the principal

regulations, the words "Regulation 5(1) and 5(2)(f) shall be substituted

by the words "Regulation 5(1), 5(2)(f) and 5(2)(i)".
