Conservation of Wild Birds (Framework for Allowing a Derogation

Opening an Autumn Live-Capturing Season for Song Thrush and

Golden Plover) (Amendment) Regulations, 2022

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by articles 54 and 55 of

the Environment Protection Act, the Minister responsible for the

environment in conjunction with the Minister for Gozo and after

consultation with the Environment and Resources Authority, has made

the following regulations:-

The title of these regulations is the Conservation of Wild

Birds (Framework for Allowing a Derogation Opening an Autumn

Live-Capturing Season for Song Thrush and Golden Plover)

(Amendment) Regulations, 2022 and these regulations shall be read

and construed as one with the Conservation of Wild Birds (Framework

for Allowing a Derogation Opening an Autumn Live-Capturing

Season for Song Thrush and Golden Plover) Regulations, hereinafter

referred to as the "principal regulations".

In sub-regulation (2) of regulation 2 of the principal

regulations the definition "protected area" or "protected areas" shall be

substituted by the following new definition

" "protected area" has the same meaning as that

" S.L. 549.42.

assigned to it in the Wild Birds Regulations;".

In sub-regulation (2) of regulation 8 of the principal

regulations, the words "the general licence to take birds," shall be

deleted.
