Organised Mass Events Regulations, 2021

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by article 26 of the

Public Health Act, the Minister responsible for public health, after

consultation with the Superintendent of Public Health, has made the

following regulations

The title of these regulations is the Organised Mass Events Title.

(1) All organised mass events shall be prohibited except Measures

(2) In the case of weddings and religious events, the following

requirements shall be adhered to

(a) the maximum capacity of attendees shall not exceed

one (1) person per four (4) square metres of the space where the

event is to be organised; and

(b) attendees may gather in groups not exceeding six (6)

persons, with a two (2) metre distance to be retained between one

group of six (6) persons and another

Provided that the number of attendees for an event

permissible under these regulations shall not exceed one hundred

(100) persons for indoor venues and three hundred (300) persons

for outdoor venues

Provided further that the use of dance floors shall be

prohibited in events permissible under these Regulations

Provided further that any event permissible under

these Regulations shall not be a stand up event.

Provided further that the organizer of a wedding

permissible under these regulations shall keep records of all

persons attending the event and make these available to the

health authorities, if so requested.

Any event organiser who acts in breach of these Penalties and

regulations, including the case where an event organiser organises a fines.

guilty of an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to the payment

of a penalty of six thousand euro (€6,000) for each and every occasion

on which these regulations are breached.

These regulations shall remain in force until 11 April 2021

and shall be considered repealed after this date

Provided that the repeal of the said regulations shall not

affect any act, decision, action and, or proceedings taken in relation to

any breach of these regulations.

The Organized Public Mass Events Regulations are hereby

repealed by these regulations

Provided that the Organised Public Mass Events Regulations

shall remain in force for the purpose of any act, decision, action or

proceedings taken in respect of any breach of the said repealed

regulations that occurred or were instituted under the Organised Public

Mass Events Regulations.
