Annual Leave National Standard (Amendment) Order, 2021

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by article 4 of the

Employment and Industrial Relations Act, the Minister within the

Office of the Prime Minister has made the following order:-

The title of this order is the Annual Leave National

Standard (Amendment) Order, 2021 and this order shall be read and

construed as one with the Annual Leave National Standard Order,

hereinafter referred to as "the principal order".

Sub-article (2) of article 5 of the principal order shall be

substituted by the following new sub-article

"(2) When a public or national holiday

falling on a day of work or on a weekly day of rest

not being a Saturday or a Sunday, falls within a

period of maternity leave of any employee in

respect of whom the Protection of Maternity

(Employment) Regulations apply, such employee

shall be entitled to the equivalent in hours of an

additional day of annual leave to be calculated on

the basis provided for in regulation 8 of the

Organisation of Working Time Regulations.".
