Veterinary Medicinal Products (Amendment No. 2) Regulations,

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by articles 30, 38 and 53

of the Veterinary Services Act, the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries,

Food and Animal Rights after consulting the Head of the National

Veterinary Laboratory, has made the following regulations:-

(1) The title of these regulations is Veterinary Medicinal

Products (Amendment No. 2) Regulations, 2021 and these regulations

shall be read and construed as one with the Veterinary Medicinal

Products Regulations, hereinafter referred to as "the principal

regulations".

(2) The scope of these regulations is to increase legal certainty

in regulation 88 of the principal regulations with regard to penalties.

Regulation 88 of the principal regulations, shall be

substituted by the following

"88. Any person who contravenes regulations 5(1),

39(1)(a)(b), 39(2)(a), 58(1) and 58A shall be guilty of an offence

against article 38 and shall be liable, on conviction, to a fine

(multa) of not less than five thousand euro (€5,000) and not more

than ten thousand euro (€10,000).".
