Local Councils (Association) (Amendment) Regulations, 2021
IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by article 72 of the Local
Government Act, the Minister responsible for the National Heritage,
the Arts and Local Government has made the following regulations:-
The title of these regulations is the Local Councils Citation.
(Association) (Amendment) Regulations, 2021 and these regulations
shall be read and construed as one with the Local Councils S.L. 363. 06.

five members are elected, one from each of the five
regions" shall be substituted by the words "in which six
members are elected, one from each of the six regions"; and
(b) the first proviso to sub-regulation (2) thereof shall be
substituted by the following new proviso
"Provided that the Committee which will be
elected by elections to be held in October, 2021 shall
remain in office until October 2029:" and immediately
thereafter there shall be added the following new proviso
"Provided further that as from the year 2029
onwards, the elections shall be held every five (5) years
on the second Saturday of October following a notice to
that effect by the Electoral Commission:".
