Motor Vehicles (Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road)

(Amendment) Regulations, 2021

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by article 54 of the

Traffic Regulation Ordinance, the Minister for Transport,

Infrastructure and Capital Projects has, after consultation with the

Authority for Transport in Malta, has made the following regulations:-

(1) The title of these regulations is the Motor Vehicles

(Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road) (Amendment) Regulations,

2021 and these regulations shall be read and construed as one with the

Motor Vehicles (Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road) Regulations,

hereinafter referred to as "the principal regulations".

(2) The scope of these regulations is to implement the

provisions of Commission Delegated Directive (EU) 2020/1833 of 2

October 2020 amending the Annexes to Directive 2008/68/EC of the

European Parliament and of the Council as regards adaptation to

scientific and technical progress.

In the definition "Annex A and Annex B to the ADR" of

regulation 2 of the principal regulations, the words "1 January 2019"

shall be substituted by the words "1 January 2021".
