Simplifying Terms and Conditions of Transfers of Defence-Related
Products (Amendment) Regulations, 2021
IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by article 3 of the
Supplies and Services Act, the Minister responsible for Trade, with the
concurrence of the Minister responsible for Defence, has made the
following regulations:-
The title of these regulations is the Simplifying Terms and Citation.
Conditions of Transfers of Defence-Related Products (Amendment)
Regulations, 2021 and these regulations shall be read and construed as
one with the Simplifying Terms and Conditions of Transfers of S.L. 117. 32.
Defence-Related Products Regulations, hereinafter referred to as "the
principal regulations".
Regulation 25 of the principal regulations shall be amended Amends
regulation 25 of
as follows
the principal
regulations.
(a) in sub-regulation (1) thereof, the words "Prime
Minister" shall be substituted by the words "Minister responsible
for trade with the concurrence of the Minister responsible for
defence";
(b) the first sub-regulation (2) thereof shall be amended
as follows
(i) in paragraph (a) thereof, the words "Prime
Minister" shall be substituted by the words "Minister
responsible for trade with the concurrence of the Minister
responsible for defence";
(ii) in paragraph (d) thereof, the words "Prime
Minister" shall be substituted by the words "Minister
responsible for defence";
(iii) in paragraph (h) hereof, the words "Prime
Minister" shall be substituted by the words "Minister
responsible for the Armed Forces of Malta"; and
(iv) in the first proviso thereof, the words "Prime
Minister" shall be substituted by the words "Minister
responsible for trade with the concurrence of the Minister
responsible for defence";
(c) the second sub-regulation (2) and sub-regulations (3)
and (4) thereof shall be renumbered sub-regulations (3), (4) and
(5) respectively;
(d) in sub-regulation (3) thereof as renumbered, the
words "Prime Minister" shall be substituted by the words
"Minister responsible for trade with the concurrence of the
Minister responsible for defence"; and
(e) in sub-regulation (4) thereof as renumbered, the
words "The Minister" shall be substituted by the words "The
Minister responsible for trade with the concurrence of the
Minister responsible for defence".
