Bye-Laws of 2021 to amend the Bye-Laws of 2016 in terms of the

General Regulations for University Undergraduate Awards, 2019 for the

Degree of Bachelor in Theatre (Honours) - B. Thr. (Hons) -

under the auspices of the School of Performing Arts

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred upon him by articles 74 (5) and 75 (6) of the

Education Act (Cap. 327), the Chancellor of the University of Malta has promulgated

the following bye-laws made by the Board of the School of Performing Arts in virtue

of the powers conferred upon it by article 7 (b) (v) of the Statute for the School, which

bye-laws have been approved by the Senate of the University of Malta

Citation

These bye-laws may be cited as the Bye-Laws of 2021 to amend the

Bye-Laws of 2016 in terms of the General Regulations for University Undergraduate

Awards, 2019 for the Degree of Bachelor in Theatre (Honours) - B. Thr. (Hons) -

and shall be read and construed as one with the Bye-Laws of 2016 in terms of the

General Regulations for University Undergraduate Awards, 2019 for the Degree of

Bachelor in Theatre (Honours) - B. Thr. (Hons) - under the auspices of the School of

Performing Arts, published as Legal Notice 197 of 2016, hereinafter referred to as

“the principal bye-laws”.

Applicability

These bye-laws shall apply from 22 nd February, 2021 onwards.

Amendment to the title of the principal bye-laws

For the title of the principal bye-laws there shall be substituted the

following

“Bye-Laws of 2021 in terms of the General Regulations for University Undergraduate

Awards, 2019 for the Degree of Bachelor in Theatre (Honours) – B. Theatre (Hons) -

under the auspices of the School of Performing Arts”

Amendment to bye-law 1 of the principal bye-laws

For bye-law 1 of the principal bye-laws there shall be substituted the

following

“Citation and Interpretation

1. (1) These bye-laws may be cited as the Bye-Laws of 2021 in terms of

the General Regulations for University Undergraduate Awards, 2019 for the degree

of Bachelor in Theatre (Honours) - B.Theatre (Hons) - under the auspices of the

School of Performing Arts.

In these bye-laws, unless the context otherwise requires -

“the Board” means the Board of the School of Performing Arts;

“the Course” means the programme of study leading to the degree of Bachelor

in Theatre (Honours) - B. Theatre (Hons);

“the Degree” means the degree of Bachelor in Theatre (Honours) - B. Theatre

(Hons);

“the Diploma” means the Diploma in Theatre; and

“the Principal Regulations” means the General Regulations for University

Undergraduate Awards, 2019.”
