Service of Summons by Electronic Mail

(Amendment) Regulations, 2021

BY virtue of the powers conferred by articles 6 and 13 of the

Commissioners for Justice Act, the Minister for Justice, Equality and

Governance has made the following regulations

Reg. 1 Citation and commencement. — 135 tal-2021 – Regolamenti tal-2021 li jemendaw ir-Regolamenti dwar in-Notifika ta’ Taħrikiet bil-Posta Elettronika Open official source

The title of these regulations is the Service of

Summons by Electronic Mail (Amendment) Regulations, 2021 and

these regulations shall be read and construed as one with the Service

of Summons by Electronic Mail Regulations, hereinafter referred to as

the "principal regulations".

(2) These regulations shall come into force on the 5th April,

2021.

Reg. 2 Amends regulation 3 of the principal regulations. — 135 tal-2021 – Regolamenti tal-2021 li jemendaw ir-Regolamenti dwar in-Notifika ta’ Taħrikiet bil-Posta Elettronika Open official source

Regulation 3(2) of the principal regulations shall be

substituted by the following

"(2)

Any person listed in sub-regulation (3) who is

interested in subscribing to the service of summons by

electronic mail shall register for electronic services relating to

the Local Enforcement System either by signing a declaration in

the presence of an authorised officer which must be completed

in the form prescribed in Schedule 1, or else through e-iD.".
