Declaration of Intent Regulations, 2020

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by article 14(1) of the

Real Estate Agents, Property Brokers and Property Consultants Act

2020, the Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects,

has made the following regulations:-

The title of these regulations is the Declaration of Intent Citation.

Regulations, 2020.

In these regulations, unless the context otherwise requires

Interpretation.

"Act" means the Real Estate Agents, Property Brokers and Cap. 615.

Property Consultants Act;

"Board" means the Licensing Board established under Part V of

the Act;

"branch manager" shall have the same meaning as assigned to it

under the Act;

"land" includes all immovable property as held in the Civil Code Cap. 16.

and which is not extra commercium;

"licence" means a licence issued by the Board to exercise the

activity of a property broker, or real estate agent or to act as a branch

manager or property consultant;

"property broker" shall have the same meaning as assigned to it

under the Act;

"property consultant" shall have the same meaning as assigned to

it under the Act;

"real estate agent" shall have the same meaning as assigned to it

under the Act.

Every estate agent, property broker, property consultant Declaration of

and branch manager who is not eligible to proceed directly to apply for intent.

a licence but who intends to apply for a licence by the 31st December

2021 must, by not later than the 31st March 2021, inform the Board of

his intention to apply for a licence, using the prescribed form.
