Suspension of Private Guards and Community Officers Courses

for Renewal of Licences (Extension of validity of licences)

Regulations, 2020

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by article 24 of the

Private Guards and Community Officers Act, the Minister responsible

for the police has made the following regulations:-

The title of these regulations is the Suspension of Private

Guards and Community Officers Courses for Renewal of Licences

(Extension of validity of licences) 2020.

In these regulations unless the context otherwise requires

"Act" means the Private Guards and Community Officers

Act;

"community officer" has the same meaning assigned to it

by article 2 of the Act;

"private guard" has the same meaning assigned to it by the

article 2 of the Act.

Private Guards and Community Officers’ licences that have

expired on or after the 1 st March 2020 up to the 15 th June 2020 shall be

extended until the 1 st August 2020.

Private Guards licences referred to in regulation 3, shall

only be renewed thereafter, if the holders will have carried out a

refresher course as provided in regulation 4(3) of the Private Guards

Regulations.

The Suspension of Private Guards and Community Officers

Courses for Renewal of Licences Regulations are hereby repealed.
