Suspension of Private Guards and Community Officers Courses for
Renewal of Licences Regulations, 2020
IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by article 24 of the
Private Guards and Community Officers Act, the Minister responsible
for the police has made the following regulations:-
The title of these regulations is the Suspension of Private
Guards and Community Officers Courses for Renewal of Licences
Regulations, 2020.
In these regulations unless the context otherwise requires:
"Act" means the Private Guards and Community Officers
Act;
"community officer" has the same meaning assigned to it
by article 2 of the Act;
"private guard" has the same meaning assigned to it by
article 2 of the Act.
No authorised person shall carry out training courses or
continuing training courses for private guards and community officers
until further notice.
The requirement for private guards to attend a course to
have their licences renewed as set out in the Private Guards
Regulations is suspended until further notice.
The licences of private guards and community officers that
expire on or after 1st March 2020 shall be automatically extended until
further notice. Thereafter, the licences shall be renewed in accordance
with the Private Guards Regulations and the Community Officers
Regulations.
