Registry of Companies (Establishment as an Agency)

(Amendment) Order, 2019

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by article 36(1), (2) and

(4)(b) of the Public Administration Act, the Prime Minister has made

the following order:-

The title of this order is the Registry of Companies Citation.

(Establishment as an Agency) (Amendment) Order, 2019, and this

order shall be read and construed as one with the Registry of S.L. 595.27

Companies (Establishment as an Agency) Order, hereinafter referred

to as "the principal order".

In article 1 and in the title of the principal order, for the Amends article

words "Registry of Companies" there shall be substituted the words 1 principal

"Malta Business Registry".

Sub-article (2) of article 2 of the principal order shall be Amends article

2 of the

amended as follows

(a) in the definition "Agency", for the words

"means the Registry of Companies Agency established by

this order" there shall be substituted the words "means the

Malta Business Registry established by this order"; and

(b) in the definition "Minister", for the words

"Minister responsible for financial regulation" there shall

be substituted the words "Minister responsible for the

regulation of financial services".

In article 3 of the principal order, for the words "There Amends article

shall be established an Agency, to be known as the Registry of 3 principal

Companies Agency" there shall be substituted the words "There shall

be established an Agency, to be known as the Malta Business

Registry".

In article 4 of the principal order for the words "Minister Amends article

responsible for financial regulation" there shall be substituted the 4 principal

words "Minister responsible for the regulation of financial services".

Articles 9, 10 and 11 of the principal order shall be

renumbered as articles 10, 11 and 12 respectively.

Immediately after article 8 of the principal order there shall

be added the following new article

9. Immediately after article 13, as added, of the principal

order, there shall be added the following new article
