Consumer Credit (Amendment) Regulations 2018

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by article 7 of the

Consumer Affairs Act, the Minister for Justice, Culture and Local

Government, in consultation with the Consumer Affairs Council, has

made the following regulations:-

The title of these regulations is the Consumer Credit

(Amendment) Regulations, 2018, and these regulations shall be read

and construed as one with the Consumer Credit Regulations

hereinafter referred to as "the principal regulations".

Paragraph (d) of sub-regulation (2) of regulation 4 of the

principal regulations shall be substituted by the following

"(d)

involving a total amount of credit less than two

hundred euro (€200) or more than seventy-five thousand euro

(€75,000)

Provided that notwithstanding this provision, these

regulations shall apply to unsecured credit agreements the

purpose of which is the renovation of a residential immovable

property involving a total amount of credit above seventy-five

thousand euro (€75,000);".
