Innovative Technology Arrangements and Services
(Fees) Regulations, 2018
IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by article 20(2) of the
Innovative Technology Arrangements and Services Act, the
Parliamentary Secretary for Financial Services, Digital Economy and
Innovation , on the advice of the Malta Digital Innovation Authority,
has made the following regulations:-
The title of these regulations is the Innovative Technology Citation.
Arrangements and Services (Fees) Regulations, 2018.

Fees
Certification of Innovative Technology Arrangements
Processing fee
Stage 1: initial processing fee - payable concurrently with submission of
application
Stage 2: the systems audit leading to Innovative Technology Arrangement
certification - payable concurrently with submission of Systems Audit report
Certification fee
Valid for two years, after which certified Innovative Technology
Arrangements need to re-apply to renew their certification for a further
period of two years.
A fee of €40,000 is payable upon renewal.

Initial
processing
fee
Registration of
Systems Auditors having up to five Subject Matter Experts
€7,500
The initial processing fee for the registration of a Systems
Auditor is increased by €500 for every additional Subject
Matter Expert in excess of five Subject Matter Experts.
Technical Administrators
€5,000
* Valid for two years, after which Systems Auditors and Technical Administrators need to re-apply
to renew their registration for a further period of two years

Appointment of Resident Agents
One-time processing fee
Fees in relation to material changes in
Software
Rights of users
Rights, authorisation or powers of Technical Administrator or the Malta
Digital Innovation Authority, payable by the applicant
Technical Administrator
Administrator of a relevant legal organisation
Qualifying shareholders
Subject Matter Experts
Person with reference to whom a certification or Certificate of Registration
has been issued

Authority
The fees prescribed in the Schedule shall be the fees to be Fees.
levied in relation to the matters stated in the Schedule with reference
to the certification of Innovative Technology Arrangements,
Registration of Systems Auditors and Technical Administrators, and
other fees for matters ancillary thereto.
