Electricity Market (Amendment) Regulations, 2018

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by article 37(1) of the

Regulator for Energy and Water Services Act, the Prime Minister,

after consultation with the Regulator for Energy and Water Services,

has made the following regulations:-

The title of these regulations is the Electricity Market

(Amendment) Regulations, 2018, and these regulations shall be read

and construed as one with the Electricity Market Regulations,

hereinafter referred to as "the principal regulations".

In the Third Schedule to the principal regulations,

paragraph “(x) the contribution of generating capacity to reducing

emissions.” shall be substituted by the words “(x) the contribution of

generating capacity to reducing emissions;” and immediately after

paragraph (x) as amended, there shall be added the following new

paragraphs

“(xi) take into account the outcome of the

comprehensive assessment referred to in regulation 16(1) and

16(2) of the Energy Efficiency and Cogeneration Regulations;

(xii) ensure that the requirements of regulation 16(6) of

the Energy Efficiency and Cogeneration Regulations are

fulfilled; and

(xiii) take into account the outcome of cost-benefit

analysis referred to in regulation 16(6) of the Energy Efficiency

and Cogeneration Regulations.”.
