Childcare Centres (Substitution of Entities) Regulations, 2018

BY VIRTUE of the powers conferred on the Minister

responsible for Education by article 135 of the Education Act, on the

Minister for Finance by articles 14C and 96 of the Income Tax Act,

and on the Minister responsible for commerce by article 9(2) of the

Coordination of Government Inspections Act, the said Ministers have

jointly made the following regulations:-

The title of these regulations is the Childcare Centres Citation.

The Registration of Childcare Facilities as Educational Amends the

Registration of

Establishments Regulations shall be amended as follows

(a)

in regulation 2 thereof, the definition "Department"

Establishments

shall be substituted by the following

Regulations.

" "entity" means the entity responsible for

regulating childcare centres;" and

(b) the word "Department", wherever it occurs in the

said regulations, shall be substituted by the word "entity".

The Deduction (Childcare Fees) Rules shall be amended as Consequential

amendments to

(a)

in paragraph (b) of rule 2 thereof, for the words "by

the Department for Social Welfare Standards or the Directorate

for Quality and Standards in Education or is a service provided

by the Foundation for Educational Services" there shall be

substituted the words "by the entity responsible for regulating

childcare centres"; and

(b) in rule 3 thereof, for the words "The Department for

Social Welfare Standards, the Directorate for Quality and

Standards in Education and the Foundation for Educational

Services shall provide" there shall be substituted the words "The

entity responsible for regulating childcare centres shall

provide"; and for the words "in their possession" there shall be

substituted the words "in its possession".

In the Schedule to the Coordination of Government
