Maintenance of Good Order at Places of Entertainment

(Amendment) Regulations, 2018

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by articles 183(2) and

203 of the Code of Police Laws, the Minister responsible for Home

Affairs and National Security has made following regulations:-

The title of these regulations is the Maintenance of Good Citation.

Order at Places of Entertainment (Amendment) Regulations 2018 and

these regulations shall be read and construed as one with the S.L. 10.40.

Maintenance of Good Order at Places of Entertainment Regulations,

hereinafter referred to as "the principal regulations".

In regulation 2 of the principal regulations, in the Amends

definition "place of entertainment" the words "a concert venue;" shall regulation

the principal

be substituted by the words "a concert venue." and immediately regulations

thereafter there shall be added the following

"Any unlicensed venue that is being used to host outdoor

events for persons under the age of seventeen shall, for the

purposes of these regulations, be considered as a place of

entertainment.".

In sub-regulation (2) of regulation 6 of the principal Amends

regulations, the words "as may be appropriate." shall be substituted regulation

the principal

by the words "as may be appropriate:" and immediately thereafter, regulations

there shall be added the following new provisos and new sub-

regulation (7)

"Provided that whenever an outdoor event is being

organised for such persons in unlicensed venues, such event

shall be covered by a bank guarantee of five thousand euro

(€5,000)

Provided further that outdoor events held in areas of 750

square metres or less shall not be subject to a bank guarantee.

Any employee to be present at any outdoor event

being held for persons under the age of seventeen shall be vetted

by the Commissioner to ensure that such employee is of good

conduct. The proprietor shall, to this effect, submit to the

Commissioner a list of employees to be present at the outdoor

event not less than two weeks before the outdoor event is held.".
