Maintenance of Minimum Stocks of Crude Oil and, or Petroleum

Products (Amendment) Regulations, 2017

IN exercise of the powers conferred by article 37(1) of the

Regulator for Energy and Water Services Act, the Minister for Energy

and Water Management, after consultation with the Regulator for

Energy and Water Services, has made the following regulations

The title of these regulations is the Maintenance of

Minimum Stocks of Crude Oil and, or Petroleum Products

(Amendment) Regulations, 2017, and these regulations shall be read

and construed as one with the Maintenance of Minimum Stocks of

Crude Oil and, or Petroleum Products Regulations, hereinafter

referred to as "the principal regulations".

Regulation 3 of the principal regulations shall be amended

as follows

(a)

in sub-regulation (1) thereof, immediately after the

words "any necessary measures", there shall be added the words

"as directed by the Regulator";

(b)

immediately after sub-regulation (3) thereof, there

shall be added the following new sub-regulation

"(4) Notwithstanding any other provision under

this regulation, the Minister may decide that part of the oil-

stocks to be maintained at all times in pursuance of the

national obligation referred to in sub-regulation (1), are to

be maintained by Government, under such conditions

which shall be communicated to the Regulator.".
