BURIALS ORDINANCE

(CAP. 17)

(Amendment) Order, 2016

IN exercise of the powers conferred by article 3 of the Burials

Ordinance, the Minister for Health, with the concurrence of the

Minister of Finance, has made the following Order:-

The title of this order is the Price Payable for the

Acquisition of Graves and Grave Sites (Amendment) Order, 2016,

and this Order shall be read and construed as one with the Price

Payable for the Acquisition of Graves and Grave Sites Order,

hereinafter referred to as "the principal Order".

Article 3 of the principal Order shall be substituted by the

following

"3. The price payable for the acquisition of a grave in

any Government cemetery (inclusive of the consideration for

the site) shall be €8,000

Provided that the provisions of this article shall not apply

to the price payable for the acquisition of a constructed grave in

any Government cemetery, inclusive of the consideration for the

grant of the site, in favour of applicants who had already entered

into a preliminary agreement with the Government prior to the

coming into force of this Order.".

Articles 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 of the principal Order are hereby

deleted.

Article 9 of the principal Order shall be amended as

follows

(a)

the current article shall be re-numbered as article 4

of the principal Order; and

(b) for the words articles "6, 7 or 8" in the said article,

there shall be substituted the words "article 3".
