TERRITORIAL WATERS AND CONTIGUOUS ZONE ACT

Territorial Waters Regulations, 2015

IN exercise of the powers conferred by article 7 of the

Territorial Waters and Contiguous Zone Act, the Prime Minister has

made the following regulations:-

(1) The title of these regulations is the Territorial Waters

Regulations, 2015.

(2) These regulations apply to the internal waters and

territorial waters of Malta.

(3) The purpose of these regulations is to regulate activities in

the internal waters and territorial waters of Malta.

(1) Unless otherwise defined in these regulations, words

and expressions used herein shall have the same meaning assigned to

them as in the Act.

(2) In these regulations, unless the context otherwise requires

"the Act" means the Territorial Waters and Contiguous Zone

Act;

"internal waters" means the waters on the landward side of the

baselines from which the breadth of the territorial waters are

measured;

"territorial waters" has the same meaning assigned to it by

article 3 of the Act.

In pursuance of the provisions of regulation 11 of the

Continental Shelf Regulations, the provisions of regulations 3 to 10 of

the said Regulations shall also apply in the internal waters and

territorial waters of Malta.
