MERCHANT SHIPPING ACT

(CAP. 234)

Merchant Shipping (Limitation of Liability for Maritime Claims)

(Amendment) Regulations, 2015

In exercise of the powers conferred by articles 374 and 375 of

the Merchant Shipping Act, the Minister for Transport and

Infrastructure has made the following regulations:-

(1)

The title of these regulations is the Merchant Citation and

Shipping (Limitation of Liability for Maritime Claims) (Amendment) coming

force.

Regulations, 2015 and shall be read and construed as one with the

Merchant Shipping (Limitation of Liability for Maritime Claims)

Regulations, hereinafter referred to as the "principal regulations".

These regulations shall come into force on the 8 th June,

(1) In Article 6 paragraph (1)(a) of the Schedule for the

words -

(a)

"2 million Units of Account" there shall be

substituted the words "3.02 million Units of Account";

(b)

"800 Units of Account" there shall be substituted

the words "1,208 Units of Account";

(c)

"600 Units of Account" there shall be substituted

the words "906 Units of Account";

(d)

"400 Units of Account" there shall be substituted

the words "604 Units of Account".

In Article 6 paragraph (1)(b) of the Schedule for the

words -

(a) "1 million Units of Account" there shall be substituted the

words "1.51 million Units of Account";

(b)

"400 Units of Account" there shall be substituted

the words "604 Units of Account";

(c)

"300 Units of Account" there shall be substituted

the words "453 Units of Account";

(d)

"200 Units of Account" there shall be substituted

the words "302 Units of Account".
