Conservation of Wild Birds (Framework for Allowing a

Derogation Opening a Spring Hunting Season for

Turtledove and Quail) (Amendment) Regulations, 2014

BY VIRTUE of the powers conferred by article 61(1) and (2)

and article 62(1) and (2) of the Environment and Development

Planning Act, the Minister for Sustainable Development, the

Environment and Climate Change has made the following

regulations:-

The title of these regulations is the Conservation of Wild

Birds (Framework for Allowing a Derogation Opening A Spring

Hunting Season for Turtledove and Quail) (Amendment) Regulations,

2014, and these regulations shall be read and construed as one with

the Conservation of Wild Birds (Framework for Allowing a

Derogation Opening A Spring Hunting Season for Turtledove and

Quail) Regulations, hereinafter referred to as the "principal

regulations".

In the principal regulations, for the words "Director",

wherever they occur, there shall be substituted the words "Wild Birds

Regulation Unit".

Sub-regulation (3) of regulation 4 of the principal

regulations shall be substituted by the following

"(3)

The application for the Spring Hunting Licence

shall be submitted within the period specified for this purpose

by the Wild Birds Regulation Unit.".

Regulation 5 of the principal regulations shall be amended

as follows

(a)

paragraph (h) thereof shall be substituted by the

following

"(h) provide that hunting can only take place on

Monday to Friday from two hours before sunrise to two

o’clock in the afternoon and on Saturdays from two hours

before sunrise to noon;"; and

(b)

paragraph (i) thereof shall be substituted by the

following

"(i) provide that hunting can only take place on

Sundays and on public holidays from two hours before

sunrise to noon;".
