Conservation of Wild Birds (Framework for Allowing a

Derogation Opening an Autumn Live-Capturing Season

for Finches) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations, 2014

BY VIRTUE of the powers conferred by articles 61 and 62 of

the Environment and Development Planning Act, the Minister for

Sustainable Development, the Environment and Climate Change has

made the following regulations:-

The title of these regulations is the Conservation of Wild Citation.

Birds (Framework for Allowing a Derogation Opening an Autumn

Live-Capturing Season for Finches) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations,

and these regulations shall be read and construed as one with the

Conservation of Wild Birds (Framework for Allowing a Derogation S.L. 504.124

Opening an Autumn Live-Capturing Season for Finches) Regulations,

hereinafter referred to as "the principal regulations".

In sub-regulation (2) of regulation 3 of the principal Amends

regulations, for the words "for that purpose." there shall be regulation

the principal

substituted the words "for that purpose:", and immediately thereafter regulations.

there shall be added the following new proviso

"Provided that any single-use rings as approved by the

Wild Birds Regulation Unit which are not used by the licensee

during the period for which they were approved shall be

returned to the Wild Birds Regulation Unit in terms of these

regulations, upon the closure of the Autumn finch live-capturing

season.".

In paragraph (m) of regulation 7 of the principal Amends

regulations, for the words "live-capturing site;" there shall be regulation

the principal

substituted the words "live-capturing site:", and immediately regulations.

thereafter there shall be added the following new provisos

"Provided that any single-use rings not placed on such

finch shall be returned to the Wild Birds Regulation Unit upon

the closure of the Autumn finch live-capturing season by not

later than the date stipulated by the Wild Birds Regulation Unit

for that purpose

Provided further that a fee of five euro (€5.00) shall be

levied for every ring given to the licensee which is not placed on

a finch and reported and which is not returned to the Wild Birds

Regulation Unit;".
