Human Tissues and Cells (Coding, Processing, Preservation,

Storage and Distribution) (Amendment) Regulations, 2014

IN exercise of the powers conferred by article 16 of the Human

Blood and Transplants Act, the Minister for Energy and Health, after

consultation with the Licensing Authority, has made the following

regulations:-

The title of these regulations is the Human Tissues and Citation.

Cells (Coding, Processing, Preservation, Storage and Distribution)

(Amendment) Regulations, 2014, and these regulations shall be read

and construed as one with the Human Tissues and Cells (Coding, S.L. 483.04

Processing, Preservation, Storage and Distribution) Regulations,

hereinafter referred to as "the principal regulations".

Regulation 7 of the principal regulations shall be amended Amends

(a)

sub-regulations (1), (2), (3) and (4) thereof shall be

re-numbered as sub-regulations (2), (3), (4) and (5)

respectively;

(b) immediately before sub-regulation (2) thereof, as re-

numbered, there shall be added the following new sub-

"(1) All persons or establishments using human

tissues and cells regulated by these regulations shall report

any relevant information to establishments engaged in the

donation, procurement, testing, processing, storage and

distribution of human tissues and cells in order to facilitate

traceability and ensure quality and safety control and shall

have procedures in place for this purpose."; and

(c)

in sub-regulation (3) thereof, as re-numbered, for the

words "in sub-regulation (1)(a) and (b)", there shall be

substituted the words "in sub-regulation (2)(a) and (b)".
