Bye-Laws of 2014 to amend the Bye-Laws of 2012 in terms of the General

Regulations for University Postgraduate Awards for the Degree of

Master of Science - M.Sc. - under the auspices of the Institute of Earth Systems

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred upon him by articles 74 (5) and 75

(6) of the Education Act (Cap. 327), the Chancellor of the University of Malta has

promulgated the following bye-laws made by the Board of the Institute of Earth

Systems in virtue of the powers conferred upon it by article 8 (b) (v) of the Statute

for the Institute, which bye-laws have been approved by the Senate of the University

of Malta

These bye-laws may be cited as the Bye-Laws of 2014 to amend the Bye-

Laws of 2012 in terms of the General Regulations for University Postgraduate Awards,

2008 for the Degree of Master of Science – M.Sc. – and shall be read and construed

as one with the Bye-Laws of 2012 in terms of the General Regulations for University

Postgraduate Awards, 2008 for the Degree of Master of Science – M.Sc. – under the

auspices of the Institute of Earth Systems, published as Legal Notice 291 of 2012,

hereinafter referred to as “the principal bye-laws”.

These bye-laws shall apply from 1st November, 2013 onwards.

Addition of bye-law 15 to the principal bye-laws

The following bye-law 15 shall be added after bye-law 14 of the principal

bye-laws

“15. Students shall be required to present the work performed during the

course of their research, at internal seminars organised by the Institute.”

Bye-laws 15 to 17 of the principal bye-laws shall be re-numbered as bye-
