POLICE ACT

(CAP. 164)

Police Act (Amendment of Fifth Schedule) Regulations, 2013

BY VIRTUE of the powers conferred by article 121 of the

Police Act, the Minister for Home Affairs with the concurrence of

the Minister responsible for finance, has made the following

regulations:-

The title of these regulations is the Police Act

(Amendment of Fifth Schedule) Regulations, 2013, and these

regulations shall be read and construed as one with the Fifth Schedule

to the Police Act, which Fifth Schedule is hereinafter in these

regulations referred to as "the Schedule".

Regulation 2 of the Schedule shall be renumbered as

subregulation (1) thereof and immediately thereafter there shall be

added the following new subregulation

"(2)

For the purposes of these regulations, the term

‘Police officer’ shall also include persons who have served in

the Armed Forces of Malta and the Malta Correctional Services

and before serving in the Police force and any uninterrupted

period of service within the Armed Forces of Malta and the

Malta Correctional Services prior to the period of service as a

Police officer shall be reckoned as service in a disciplined force

and qualifying for a pension under the terms and conditions of

the Act.".
