EXTRADITION ACT
(CAP. 276)
Extradition (Designated Foreign Countries)
(Amendment No. 2) Order, 2013
IN exercise of the powers conferred by article 7 of the
Extradition Act, the Parliamentary Secretary for Justice has made the
following Order:-
The title of this Order is the Extradition (Designated Citation.
Foreign Countries) (Amendment No. 2) Order, 2013, and this Order
shall be read and construed as one with the Extradition (Designated S.L. 276.05
Foreign Countries) Order, hereinafter referred to as "the principal
Order".
Sub-article (4) of article 5 of the principal Order shall be Amends article
5 of the
substituted by the following
principal Order.
"(4)
The statement referred to in sub-article (3)(a) is
one that the person in respect of whom the warrant is issued is
wanted in the scheduled country for the purposes of conducting
a criminal prosecution for the commission of an offence
specified in the warrant.".
Sub-article (4) of article 62 of the principal Order shall be Amends article
62 of the
substituted by the following
principal Order.
"(4)
The statement referred to in sub-article (3)(a) is
one that the person in respect of whom the warrant is issued is
wanted in Malta for the purposes of conducting a criminal
prosecution for the commission of an offence specified in the
warrant.".
Sub-article (4) of article 5 of the Extradition (Republic of Consequential
Iceland and Kingdom of Norway) Order shall be substituted by the amendment
article 5 of the
following
Extradition

Iceland and
"(4)
The statement referred to in sub-article (3)(a) is Kingdom

wanted in the scheduled country for the purposes of conducting
a criminal prosecution for the commission of an offence
specified in the warrant.".
Sub-article (4) of article 62 of the principal Order shall be
substituted by the following
"(4)
The statement referred to in sub-article (3)(a) is
one that the person in respect of whom the warrant is issued is
wanted in Malta for the purposes of conducting a criminal
prosecution for the commission of an offence specified in the
warrant.".
