Energy Labelling Requirements for Air Conditioners

(Implementation) Regulations, 2013

IN exercise of the powers conferred by articles 38 to 40 of the

Product Safety Act, Minister for Social Dialogue, Consumer Affairs

and Civil Liberties, on the advice of the Malta Competition and

Consumer Affairs Authority, has made the following regulations:-

Requirements for Air Conditioners (Implementation) Regulations,

2013.

These regulations implement the requirements set by Applicability or

Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 626/2011 of 4 May 2011 otherwise

Regulation (EU) No 626/2011 establishes requirements for the

labelling and the provision of supplementary product information for

electric mains-operated air conditioners with a rated capacity of ≤ 12

kW for cooling, or heating, if the product has no cooling function. In

the implementation of the above-mentioned (EU) No 626/2011, these

regulations shall not apply to

(a)

appliances that use non-electric energy sources;

(b) air conditioners of which the condensor- or

evaporator-side, or both, do not use air for heat transfer

medium.

For the purpose of Article 6 of Regulation (EU) No 626/ Authority
