Conservation of Wild Birds (Declaration of a Derogation for the

Control of Sturnus vulgaris) Regulations, 2013

BY VIRTUE of the powers conferred by article 61 of the

Environment and Development Planning Act, and by regulation 10(6)

of the Conservation of Wild Birds Regulations and by regulations 3

and 4 of the Conservation of Wild Birds (Framework for Allowing a

Derogation for the Control of Birds in the Interest of Air Safety)

Regulations, the Minister for Sustainable Development, the

Environment and Climate Change has made the following

regulations:-

The title of these regulations is the Conservation of Wild

Birds (Declaration of a Derogation for the Control of Sturnus

vulgaris) Regulations, 2013.

Terms and expressions used in these regulations, unless the

context otherwise requires, shall have the same meaning as given in

the Conservation of Wild Birds Regulations, hereinafter referred to as

"the Wild Birds Regulations".

This derogation only applies for the control of Sturnus

vulgaris.

For the purposes of the second proviso to regulation 10(6)

of the Wild Birds Regulations and for the purposes of these

regulations, the period for the control of Sturnus vulgaris, shall be

from 1st September 2013 to the 31st May 2014, both days included.

For the purposes of these regulations, the control of

Sturnus vulgaris shall be in accordance with the provisions of the

framework laid down by the Conservation of Wild Birds (Framework

for Allowing a Derogation for the Control of Birds in the Interest of

Air Safety) Regulations and the Wild Birds Regulations.
