Type Approval of Agricultural or Forestry Tractors
(Amendment) Regulations, 2013
IN exercise of the powers conferred by articles 38, 39 and 40 of
the Product Safety Act, the Minister for Social Dialogue, Consumer
Affairs and Civil Liberties, on the advice of the Malta Competition
and Consumer Affairs Authority, has made the following
regulations:-
(1) The title of these regulations is the Type Approval of Citation, scope
Agricultural or Forestry Tractors (Amendment) Regulations, 2013 and
commencement.
and these regulations shall be read and construed as one with the Type S.L. 427.59
Approval Agricultural or Forestry Tractors Regulations, hereinafter
referred to as "the principal regulations".
(2) These regulations implement the following requirements
(a) Directive 2012/24/EU of 8 October 2012 amending,
for the purpose of adapting its technical provisions, Council
Directive 86/297/EEC on the approximation of the laws of the
Member States relating to the power take-offs of tractors and
their protection;
(b) Directive 2013/8/EU of 26 February 2013
amending, for the purpose of adapting its technical provisions,
Directive 2009/144/EC of the European Parliament and of the
Council on certain components and characteristics of wheeled
agricultural or forestry tractors.
(3) The provisions relating to the implementation of Directive
2012/24/EU shall come into force on the 1 November 2013; and the
provisions relating to the implementation of Directive 2013/8/EU
shall come into force on the 1 April 2014.
Schedule VIII to the principal regulations shall be Substitutes
Schedule VIII to
