Young Persons (Employment) (Amendment) Regulations, 2012

IN exercise of the powers conferred by articles 6 and 48(2) of

the Employment and Industrial Relations Act, 2002, the Minister for

Justice, Dialogue and the Family has made the following regulations:-

The title of these regulations is the Young Persons

(Employment) (Amendment) Regulations, 2012, and these

regulations shall be read and construed as one with the Young Persons

(Employment) Regulations, hereinafter referred to as "the principal

regulations".

In regulation 2 of the principal regulations, in paragraph

(a) of the definition of "light work", for the words "to the satisfaction

of the Occupational Health and Safety Authority" there shall be

substituted the words "in accordance with the same General

Provisions for Health and Safety at Workplaces Regulations".

Regulation 3 of the principal regulations shall be amended

as follows

(a) in sub-regulation (1) thereof, for the words "the

provisions of article 43(2) of the Education Act" there shall be

substituted the words "the provisions of the Education Act";

and

(b) in paragraph (a) of the proviso to sub-regulation (2)

thereof, for the words "to the satisfaction of the Occupational

Health and Safety Authority" there shall be substituted the

words "in accordance with the same General Provisions for

Health and Safety at Workplaces Regulations".

In paragraph (a) of the proviso to sub-regulation (3) of

regulation 5 of the principal regulations, for the words "to the

satisfaction of the Occupational Health and Safety Authority" there

shall be substituted the words "in accordance with the General

Provisions for Health and Safety at Workplaces Regulations".
