Appointment of the President of the Competition and

Consumer Appeals Tribunal Regulations, 2011

IN exercise of the powers conferred by article 65(1)(c) of the

Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority Act, the Prime

Minister, after consultation with the Board of Governors of the

Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority, has made the

following regulations:-

The title of these regulations is the Appointment of the

President of the Competition and Consumer Appeals Tribunal

Regulations, 2011.

(1) The President of the Competition and Consumer

Appeals Tribunal shall be appointed by the President of Malta on

the advice of the Minister responsible for justice, so however that,

the said Minister shall, in advising the President of Malta, act in

accordance with any recommendation on the matter by the Chief

Justice.

(2) The provisions of sub-article (13) of article 101A

of the Constitution of Malta shall apply to the said appointment.
