AUTHORITY FOR TRANSPORT IN MALTA ACT
(CAP. 499)
Authority for Transport in Malta (Enforcement
Officers) (Amendment) Regulations, 2011
IN exercise of the powers conferred by article 43 of
the Authority for Transport in Malta Act, the Minister for
Infrastructure, Transport and Communications has, after
consultation with the Authority for Transport in Malta, made the
following regulations:-
(1) The title of these regulations is the Authority Title and coming into
for Transport in Malta (Enforcement Officers) (Amendment) force.
Regulations, 2011 and they shall be read and construed as one L.N. 40 of 2008.
with the Authority for Transport in Malta (Enforcement Officers)
Regulations, 2008, hereinafter referred to as “the principal
regulations”.
(2)
These regulations shall come into force on the 3rd
July, 2011.
For regulation 1 of the principal regulations there shall be
substituted the following
“1. The title of these regulations is the Transport
Enforcement Officers Regulations.”.
In regulation 2 of the principal regulations, immediately
after the definition “passenger transport vehicle” there shall be
inserted the following new definition
“ “public passenger transport service” has the same
meaning as assigned to it in the Passenger Transport Services
Regulations, 2009;”.
Regulation 11 of the principal regulations shall be Amends regulation 11
amended as follows
(a) for paragraph (b) thereof there shall be substituted
the following
“(b) demand and obtain from any passenger using
the public passenger transport service proof that he
has paid the applicable fare for that public passenger
transport service;”;
(b) for paragraph (c) thereof there shall be substituted
the following
“(c) demand and obtain from any passenger using
the public passenger transport service proof that he
has paid, where due, the penalty fare in terms of the
Passenger Transport Services Regulations; ”;
(c) paragraph (d) thereof shall be deleted; and
(d) paragraphs (e) to (h) thereof shall be respectively
renumbered as paragraphs (d) to (g).
